About this tool

Work out a sale price, a discount percentage, or the original price by filling in any two of the three fields — the calculator solves for the one you leave blank. Handy for shopping decisions ("is 28,000원 from 35,000원 really 20% off?"), pricing your own items, or sanity-checking discounts on receipts and product listings. Also shows how much you save in absolute terms.

How to use

  1. Enter any two of: original price, discount percentage, sale price.
  2. Leave the third field blank — it's filled in automatically.
  3. To recalculate a different field, just clear it and the calculator switches direction.

FAQ

  • What if I know the sale price and the original price?

Leave the discount field blank. The calculator works out the percentage off and the amount saved for you.

  • Why doesn't a 50% discount work when I fill all three?

When all three values are filled, they may not match each other (50% off 100 isn't 60). Clear the field you want the calculator to compute and it'll redo the math.

  • Can the discount be more than 100%?

No. A 100% discount means the item is free; a 100%+ discount would mean the store pays you. The calculator caps at 100% and rejects negative sale prices.

  • How is "you save" computed?

It's simply the original price minus the sale price — the absolute amount off, in money rather than percent.
