Business Days Calculator
Count working days between two dates, or add working days to a starting date
10 business days after the start date
Monday, May 25, 2026
Saturdays and Sundays are skipped. Public holidays are not — adjust manually if your timeline depends on them.
About this tool
Two modes in one: count the number of working days (Mon–Fri) between two dates, or add a number of working days to a start date to find a deadline. Useful for shipping ETAs, project deadlines, leave planning, and any work that's tracked in business days rather than calendar days. Public holidays are not subtracted — only weekends are excluded, so adjust by hand for your country's holiday calendar if you need precision.
How to use
- Pick "Add business days" if you have a start date and need a deadline. Enter the number of working days; use a negative number to count backward.
- Pick "Count between dates" if you have a start and end date and need the working-day count between them.
- Remember: only weekends are excluded. Subtract any public holidays in your country by hand.
FAQ
Is the start date counted?
No. "Count between dates" returns the number of business days you'd add to the start date to reach the end date, so the start day itself is not counted. Mon → Tue is 1, Mon → Fri of the same week is 4. Same-day inputs return 0.
What about national holidays?
Holidays vary by country and shift year to year, so the tool only subtracts weekends. If you need an exact deadline that respects holidays, subtract those days manually.
Can I count backward?
Yes. In "Add business days" mode, enter a negative number — the calculator walks backward through weekdays to find the date.
What counts as a business day here?
Monday through Friday in your local time zone. The tool doesn't know about your country's working week — if your country runs Sunday–Thursday, this calculator isn't the right fit.
