Real-world fit varies by brand and last by 0.5–1 sizes. When between two sizes, sizing up is usually the safer bet.
About this tool
Convert shoe sizes between US, UK, European (Paris point), Korean (mm), and Japanese (cm) systems in one shot. Foot length in millimeters is the canonical reference, with US/UK sizes shifting by ~1.5–2 between men's and women's lasts. Useful when buying sneakers (Nike, Adidas, New Balance…) overseas, but treat the result as a general guide — every brand's last is slightly different.
How to use
- Pick a gender — US/UK women's sizes are ~1.5 sizes off from men's.
- Type the size you already know in the system you know it in (e.g. 'US 9').
- All other systems plus the reference chart update instantly.
FAQ
Is the KR/JP number my foot length or my shoe length?
Korean (mm) and Japanese (cm) sizes label foot length, not the inside of the shoe. Shoes are typically 5–10 mm longer than the listed size to give your toes room — most people buy a number 5–10 mm above their foot length.
Why are men's and women's US sizes different?
US/UK sizes are sex-specific. As a rule, US Men's 9 ≈ US Women's 10.5 (about 1.5 sizes apart). Watch out for this when buying unisex models.
EU sizes show 0.5 — is that real?
Strictly EU (Paris point) sizes are integers, but most brands now offer half sizes (e.g. 41.5). The chart rounds to 0.5; many real-world product lines still only stock whole sizes.
Why do Nike US 9 and Adidas US 9 fit differently?
Each brand uses its own 'last' (the foot-shaped form a shoe is built around). Same labeled size can fit a half-size differently across brands. Use this tool as a starting point and check each brand's own size chart for the best fit.
